The brief for this project was to design a crash site on a strange environment. I made a concious effort at the start to aim for a bold and more simplistic art style than what I would typically work in. I sketched thumbnails beofre moving on to sketches detailing the specifics of each camp site, such as what tools and elements of the environment are significant. I then took the best of these ideas and then combined them into one cohesive environment (study page 4). I used Unreal Engine 4 to make rough landscape block-outs and shot compositons, one of which was used as the basis for the final environment concept (painted over in my desired art style).
